Status Messages

Communication status messages are displayed in the "Status" area on the C3Server form. The following is a list of messages and the condition they might represent:

Message What it means
No reply from device Device is not responding...it may be powered off, disconnected or not functioning properly.
Device is busy Device is temporarily busy doing another task
Communication errors - check settings Received "garbage" data.."noisy" communication lines, device malfunctioning, com port interference
Protocol errors Communication failed error checking process..interference on communication line
No data to poll Device has no data to upload
Successful Comm event was successful
  • Note that it is normal during communications for "No reply from device" and even "Communication errors-check settings" to pop up occasionally. It is only if they occur regularly, and are accompanied by transmission problems, should there be any concern.
