Importing Data From a File

The C3Server has the ability to accept data from a text file. This data must be in a format that matches what is being sent from the packaging stations or from the handheld scanners. To access the data import dialog, click the Import button.

Locate the file by clicking the Browse button, or type in the file’s path and name in the File to import box.

Click the View button to view the contents of the file in the grid.

Click the Import button to have C3Server process the contents of the file and treat it as data.

Fill in the correct data record prefix in the Prefix box if necessary.

All data that is collected by C3Server is stored in backup files. Each file is given a name consisting of the current date in the format yyyymmdd.dat. When the data records are stored in the backup format the prefix is stripped off. To use these files to restore missing or lost data you must fill in the correct prefix.
